This is the personal blog of Aaron Demby Jones. I enjoy writing about
- Music: theory, acoustics/psychoacoustics, electronic/electroacoustic music, composition
- Mathematics: algebra, number theory, information theory
- Chess: game analysis, puzzles, compositions
My research interests include multimodal representations of physics and mathematics, mathematical composition, and human-computer interaction.
I’ve studied music and mathematics at Brown University, the University of Rochester, and the University of California, Santa Barbara. Currently, I’m pursuing a PhD in the Media Arts and Technology program at UC Santa Barbara, where I hope to combine the two. I’ve also played tournament chess off and on since 2002. Here are my FIDE and USCF pages.
